Answer:1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

area of smaller circle = 7^{2} \pi  = 49\pi

area of bigger circle=14^{2} \pi = 196\pi

Ratio= \frac{49\pi }{196\pi }  = 1/4

Given,

The radius of two circles are 7 cm and 14cm

We have to find the ratio of areas of two circle

Formula,

Area of circle = \pi r^{2}

Case1: radius r=7cm

Put  r=7cm in the above formula we get one circle area

Area = 7^{2}\pi

= 7\times7\times\pi

= 49\pi

Case2: radius r=14 cm

Area = 14^{2}\pi

= 14\times14\times \pi

= 196\pi

We have to dived both the areas

= \frac{49\pi }{196\pi }

= \frac{1}{4}

The ratio of the areas of the circles is 1:4

Therefore, the answer is 1:4.
