To find

The ratio of the pressure exerted (P1/P2).

Solution

\sf{ \implies Dimension_1 = 20×10 cm = 0.2 ×0.1 metre} \\  \\  \sf{ \implies Dimension_2= 15×10 cm = 0.15 × 0.1 metre}

Pressure formula

{ \underline{ \boxed{\mathtt{P=\frac{F}{A}}}}}

where

  • P denotes pressure
  • F denotes force
  • A denotes Area

Ratio will be given as :-

\sf{\dfrac{P_1}{P_2}=  \dfrac{\frac{F}{A_1}}{\frac{F}{A_2}}}

 \sf{\implies\dfrac{P_1}{P_2}= \dfrac{A_2}{A_1}}

 \sf{\implies\dfrac{P_1}{P_2}=\dfrac{0.15 × 0.1 }{0.2 ×0.1}}

\implies \red{ \sf{\dfrac{P_1}{P_2}= \dfrac{3}{4} }}
