According to this case, assuming the distance between the two points from an origin to be equal, we get the ratio as follows:

Speed of Sound in air = 340 m/s

Speed of Sound in water = 1520 m/s

Distance = Same distance which can be denoted as 'x'.

So Time taken for reaching aircraft = x / 340

Time taken for reaching submarine = x / 1520

So Ratio of air to water is :

( x / 340 ) ÷ ( x / 1520 )

x gets cancelled, we get,

1520 / 340

=> 152 / 34

=> 76 / 17

So the ratio of speeds of air to water is 76 : 17
