Let the side of the cube be x

Find the area of 1 face:

Area = Length²

Area = x²

Find the total surface area:

There are 6 faces in a cube

Total surface area = 6x²

Find the lateral surface area:

There are 4 lateral surface

Lateral Surface Area =4x²

Find the ratio of the total surface area to lateral surface area:

TSL : LSL = 6x² : 4x²

Divide by 2x²

TSL : LSL =3 : 2

Answer: The ratio is 3 : 2
