Semi-Sphere

Diameter= 28cm

Radius= 28/2= 14cm

T.S.A of Semi-Sphere= 3πr²

=>3×π×14×14

Sphere

Radius= 14 cm(given)

T.S.A of Sphere= 3πr²

=> 4×π×14×14

Ratio = T.S.A of Semi-Sphere/T.S

A of Sphere

3×π×14×14/4×π×14×14

===> 3/4

===> 3:4, is the ratio.

The ratio of the total surface area of the semi sphere with diameter 28cm to surface area of a sphere having radius 14 cm is 1:2

Step-by-step explanation:

Diameter of semi sphere = 28 cm

Radius of semi sphere = \frac{28}{2} = 14 cm

Total surface area of semi sphere = 2 \pi r^2 = 2 \pi (14)^2

Radius of sphere = 14 cm

Total surface area of sphere = 4 \pi r^2 = 4 \pi (14)^2

The ratio of the total surface area of the semi sphere with diameter 28cm to surface area of a sphere having radius 14 cm =\frac{2 \pi (14)^2}{4 \pi (14)^2}=\frac{1}{2}

Hence the ratio of the total surface area of the semi sphere with diameter 28cm to surface area of a sphere having radius 14 cm is 1:2
