Question-

Find the reciprocal of the sum of  \sf { 1 \frac{7}{9}} and  \sf { 2 \frac{3}{5}} .

Solution-

Changing mixed fraction into proper fraction-

  •  \sf\red  { 1 \frac{7}{9} = \frac{16}{9} }

  •  \sf\red { 2 \frac{3}{5} = \frac{13}{5}}

Now, finding their sum-

 ☞ \sf { \frac{16}{9} + \frac{13}{5} }

 ☞ \sf { \frac{80 + 117 }{45} }

[ Taken LCM and performed addition ]

 ☞ \sf\green { \frac{197}{45}}

Reciprocation-

 ☞ \sf\green { \frac{197}{45}=   \frac{45}{197} }

Required Answer-

  • Their sum =  \sf { \frac{197}{45}}

  • Reciprocal of the sum=   \sf { \frac{45}{197}}
