Recoil velocity of the gun means the final velocity, i.e, the velocity with which it moves backward after shooting a bullet

First write the physical quantities

mass of gun, m.g= 1.5 kg

initial velocity of gun, u.g= 0

final velocity of gun, v.g= ?

mass of bullet, m.b= 0.05 kg

initial velocity of gun, u.b= 0

final velocity of gun, v.b = 200 m/s

According to law of conservation of momentum

Total momentum before collision=Total momentum after collision

m.g*u.g + m.b*u.b = m.g*v.g + m.b*v.b

0=1.5*v.g + 0.05*200

0=1.5*v.g + 10

v.g = -10/1.5

v.g = -6.67 m/s

Therefore the recoil velocity of the gun is 6.67 m/s in backward direction.
