Answer:
x+1/x = r
=> x2+1 = rx
=> x2-rx+1 =0
=> x = r+-√r2-4/2
Now, Again, x-1/x = s
=> x2-1= sx
=> x2-sx-1 = 0
=> x = s+-√s2+4/2
So, we get,
r+-√r2-4/2 = s+-√s2+4/2
=> Comparing the rational and irrational parts, we get,
r=s
and, √r2-4 = √s2+4
=> r2-4= s2+4
=> r2-s2 = 8
That's the best I found out. If anything else is there, I don't know.
