We know that

                   speed=distance / time

so

                  t1 = time taken to reach that point by first object.

                  t1= l1/v1

                  t2= time taken by other object to reach that point.

                  t2=l2/v2

as both the time should be same, so that they collide.

                    t2=t1

                   l2/v2=l1/v1

or                l2 * v1 = v2 * l1
