Put g(x) = 0 ⇒ x – 1 = 0 or x = 1

Remainder = p(1) Now,

p(1) = 4(1)4 – 3(1)3 – 2(1)2 + (1) – 7 = 4 – 3 – 2 + 1 – 7 = -7
