find remainder when the value of
p(x) = 4x³ - 8x² - x + 9 is divided by
g(x) = 2x - 1
first we find the value of x to find remainder
so put g(x) = 0
2x - 1 = 0
2x = 1
x = 1/2
now put the value of x into p(x)
p(1/2) = 4×1/2×1/2×1/2 - 8×1/2×1/2 - 1/2 + 9
= 1/2 - 2 - 1/2 + 9
= 14/2
= 7
so the remainder is 7
