Given :  2x^3+5x^2-6x+2 is divided by x+2

To Find :   the remainder

Solution:

2x³+5x²-6x+2 is divided by x+2

remainder term  if polynomial P(x) is divided by x - a

Then remainder is P(a)

x+2  = x  - (-2)

P(x)= 2x³+5x²-6x+2

Remainder = P ( - 2)

=  2(-2)³+5(-2)²-6(-2)+2

= - 16  + 20  + 12 + 2

= 18

Remainder = 18

2x³+5x²-6x+2 is divided by x+2   remainder = 18
