2x⁴-3x³-5x²+5     (x-2)

find value of x
x-2=0
x-2-2=0+2
x= 2

substitute 2 in place of x
2(2)⁴-3(2)³-5(2)²+5
remainder= 32-24-20+5
remainder= -7
