Find the remainder when 3x²-2x+1 is divided by x-2​

Answer:

Given, p(x) = 3x² - 2x + 1

      and g(x) = x - 2

Now if we have to get the remainder of the division , we should find the value of x in g(x).

  => x - 2 = 0

  => x = 2

By putting the value of x in p(x) , we get,

       p(2) = 3(2)² - 2(2) + 1

               = 3(4) - 4 + 1

               = 12 - 4 + 1

               = 9 (Ans.) is the remainder , r(x) .
