Hi ,
It is given that ,
f( x ) = 12x³ - 13x² - 5x + 7
If f ( x ) is divided by ( 3x + 2 ) then the
remainder is f ( -2/3 ).
f ( -2/3 ) = 12( -2/3 )³ - 13(-2/3 )² - 5( -2/3 ) + 7
= 12 ( - 8/27 ) - 13 ( 4/9 ) + 10/3 + 7
= - 32/9 - 52/9 + 10/3 + 7
= ( -32 - 52 + 30 + 63 )/9
= ( - 84 + 93 )/9
= 9/9
= 1
Therefore ,
required remainder = 1
I hope this helps you.
