Given, g(x) = 1 - 2x = 0 i.e x = 1/2 ----------------- (i)

p(x) = x^3-6x^2+14x-3

                                  - 6x^2 - 1
                          _________________
                1 - 2x )      x^2 - 6x^2 + 2x - 4  (
                               12x^2 - 6x^2
                             _____________
                           - 11x^3     + 2x - 4
                                         + 2x - 1
                         _______________
                             - 11x^3 - 3

We  have got remainder as  - 11x^3  - 3    (we know that x = 1/2 in (i)

                                             = -11/8 - 3/1

                                             = -11 - 24 /8

                                            = -35/8

Hope this helps!
