Find the remainder when p(x)=x3-6x2+14x-3 is divided by g(x)=1-2x and verify the result by long division

g(x) = 1-2x

2x  = 1

x = 1/2

x³ - 6x² + 14x -3  = (1/2)³ - 6(1/2)² +14x1/2  - 3

= 1/8 - 6/4 + 7 - 3

= 1/8 - 12/8 + 32/8

= 19/8 = 2.375

When you do long division reminder comes 19x³ so 19 (1/2)³ = 19/8 = 2.375

when you do long division -3 + 14x - 6x² + x³  ÷  1-2x

quotient comes -3 + 8x + 10x² and reminder come 19x³
