then,

p(x)=0

1-2x=0

x=1/2

putting the value of x=1/2 in the given equation

p(1/2)={(1/2)^3-6(1/2)^2+2(1/2)-4]

=(1/8-6×1/4+2×1/2-4)

=(1/8-3/2+2/1-4/1)

=(1-12+8-32)/8

=(9-44)/8

=-35/8
