Quotient = we don't know this and we don't need to.....let it be equal to Q

Remainder = we have to find it

therefore equation becomes:

x cube + 3 X square + 3 X + 1 = ( X + 22/7 )(Q) + remainder

Now let X = -22/7, because when you put this in the equation , note that the divisor will become 0 and when it will multiply with Q, it will also become 0. So only the remainder will be left on the right side. Now calculate the left side,

(-22/7) cube +3(-22/7)square +3(-22/7) +1

= - 9.84

So, as left hand side  = right hand side

therefore,   -9.84 = remainder

So the remainder is -9.84
