x + a = 0

x = -a

p(x) =  {x}^{4}  -  {a}^{2}  {x}^{2}  + 3x - a

p( - a) =  {x}^{4}  -  {a}^{2}  {x}^{2}  + 3x - a

 =  { - a}^{4}  -  {a}^{2} ( { - a}^{2} ) - 3a  - a  \\  =  { - a}^{4}  +  {a}^{4}  - 4a \\  =  - 4a

✓Step by step process :

if we wanted to know what is the reminder if divide x+a to the polynomial , we have to do first as

x+a=0

x= -a

now put this value of x in polynomial and you will get the answer

as

=(-a)^4 -a^2(-a)^2 +3(-a) -a

= -4a

I hope you understand the solution.
