The zero of g(x) = 1 - 2x is x = 1/2

Now,

By the remainder theorem the remainder should be f(1/2)

f( \frac{1}{2}) =  {( \frac{1}{2}) }^{3}  - 6 {( \frac{1}{2}) }^{2}  + 2( \frac{1}{2}) - 4

 = ( \frac{1}{8}) - 6( \frac{1}{4}) + 1 - 4

 = ( \frac{1}{8}) - ( \frac{6}{4}) - 3

 =  \frac{1 - 12 - 24}{8}
