Given:a=5
b=-6
c=-2
By using quadratic formula,
=-(-6)+_the whole root of (-6)^2-4×5×(-2)/2×5
Step 2:
-6+_the whole root of 36-40/10
Step 3:
-6+_2/10
So therefore the roots are -2/5 and -4/5.
[+_ means plus or minus]

Dear Student,

● Answer -

x = (3 + √19) / 5 or x = (3 - √19) / 5

● Explaination -

Comparing 5x²-6x-2 = 0 with ax²+ bx + c = 0,

a = 5

b = -6

c = -2

Let's calculate delta,

∆ = b² - 4ac

∆ = (-6)² - 4×5×(-2)

∆ = 36 + 40

∆ = 76

Value of x is calculated by -

x = (-b ± √∆) / 2a

x = (6 ± √76) / (2×5)

x = (6 ± 2√19) / 10

x = (3 ± √19) / 5

Hence, value of x can be -

x = (3 + √19) / 5 OR x = (3 - √19) / 5
