Find the root of the equation..
x  -  \frac{1}{x}  = 3.

Here is your answer,

Given eq : x - 1/x = 3

Taking LCM,

=> x² - 1 = 3x

=> x² - 3x - 1 = 0

Now,

=> x = [-b ± √(b² - 4ac)]/2a

Since, b = -3, a = 1, c = -1

Therefore,

=> x = [3 ± √(9 - 4(1)(-1))]/2

=> x = [3 ± √13]/2

Therefore,

The values of x are,

=> x = [3 + √13]/2 or x = [3 - √13]/2
