Given polynomial :

  • (x-1)(3x+2) = 0

To find :

  • Its roots

Solution :

(x-1)(3x+2) = 0

After multiplying,

\implies x(3x+2)-1(3x+2) = 0

\implies 3x²+2x-3x-2 = 0

\implies x(3x+2)-1(3x+2) = 0

\implies (3x+2)(x-1) = 0

\implies (3x+2) = 0 and (x-1) = 0

\implies 3x = -2 and x = 1

\implies x = -2/3 and x = 1
