Answer:

4 or 0.25

Step-by-step explanation:

Let √x = a

  Here,

⇒ 2√x + 2x⁻⁰°⁵ = 5

⇒ 2√x + 2( 1 / x⁰°⁵ ) = 5

⇒ 2√x + 2( 1 / √x  ) = 5

⇒ 2a + 2( 1 / a ) = 5

⇒ 2a + 2/a = 5

⇒ ( 2a^2 + 2 ) / a = 5

⇒ 2a^2 + 2 =  5a

⇒ 2a^2 - 5a + 2 = 0

⇒ 2a^2 - ( 4 + 1 )a + 2 = 0

⇒ 2a^2 - 4a - a + 2 =  0

⇒ 2a( a - 2 ) - ( a - 2 ) = 0

⇒ ( a - 2 )( 2a - 1 ) = a

⇒ a = 2 or a = 1 / 2

  So,

  a = √x = 2   ⇒ x = 4

  a = √x = 1 / 2   ⇒ x = 1/4

Hence, x = 4 or 1/4 or 0.25
