=x(x+2)+3(x+2)

=x²+2x+3x+6

=x²+5x+6

a=1; b=5; c=6

D=b²-4ac =(5)²-(4x1x6)

=25-24 =1

Since D>0, ∴the equation has 2 distinct roots.

∴Roots= -b±√D/2a

=-5±√1/2

=(-5+1/2) and (-5-1/2)

=(-4/2) and (-6/2)

=-2 and -3
