 {x}^{2}  + x - 6 = 0

 {x}^{2}  + (3 - 2)x - 6 = 0

 {x}^{2}  + 3x - 2x - 6 = 0

x(x + 3) - 2(x + 3) = 0

(x + 3)(x - 2) = 0

x =  -  3 \:  \:  \:  \: or \:  \:  \: x = 2

x² + x - 6 =0

therefore

x= 2,-3

as +3 × -2 = -6

and +3-2= +1
