find the roots of equation X square - 6 x - 2 = 0 by the method of completing the square​

Answer:

x²-6x-2=0..... (Given quadratic equation)

Now comparing the above equation with

ax²+bx+c=0

a=1 , b=-6 , c=-2

Third term=(b/2) ²

=(-6/2) ²

=(-3) ²

=9

By using completing square method,

x²-6x+9-9-2=0

(x±3) ²-9-2=0

(x±3) ²-11=0

(x±3) ²=11

(x±3) =√11

x= √11-3 or √11+3.... (roots)
