To Find :

  • roots of 2x² + x - 6

Solution :

Equation :-

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2x² + x - 6

  • By Middle term splitting

2x² + x - 6

2x² - 3x + 4x - 6

x(2x - 3) + 2(2x - 3)

(x + 2)(2x - 3)

So,

The roots of the equation are

x + 2 = 0

x = -2

OR

2x - 3 = 0

2x = 3

x = 3/2

Answer:

roots are : 3/2 and -2

Step-by-step explanation:

2x^{2}  + x -6=0\\2x^{2} + 4x - 3x -6=0\\2x(x+2) -3(x+2)=0\\(2x-3)(x+2)=0\\\\when (2x-3=0)\\2x=3\\x=3/2\\\\when (x+2=0)\\x=-2
