Given :-

  • Quadratic equation : x² + 8x + 15

To Find :-

  • Roots of the quadratic equation.

Solution :-

~By Factorization [ middle term splitting ].

➟  x² + 8x + 5

➟  x² + 5x + 3x + 15 = 0

~By taking x and 3 common.

➟  x( x + 5 ) + 3( x + 5 ) = 0

➟  (x + 3)(x + 5) = 0

~Either of them will be zero.

  • [ If x + 3 = 0 ]

➟ x + 3 = 0

➟ x = 0 - 3

➟  x = - 3

  • [ If x + 5 = 0 ]

➟ x + 5 = 0

➟ x = 0 - 5

x = - 5

  • Henceforth, the roots of this quadratic equations are -3,-5 [ Option 'c' ]
