X+√(x-2)=4

√(x-2)=4-x

squaring on both the sides

x-2=16+x²-8x

x²-9x+18=0

now by solving the given quadratic equation by splitting the middle term method

x²-3x-6x+18=0

X(x-3)-6(x-3)=0

(x-3)(x-6)=0

so

X=3 or X=6

so roots of the quadratic equation are

X={3,6}
