x²+5x-1x-5=0

x(x+5)-1(x+5)=0

(x+5)(x-1)=0

x+5=0 or x-1=0

x=-5 or x=1

x^2+4x=+5

x^2+2*2*x=+5

add both the side 2^2

x^2+2*2*x+2^2=5+2^2

(x+2)^2=5+4

(x+2)^2=9

x+2=√9

x=+ or -3 -2

x=if -3, then, -3-2=-5

x=if +3,then,+3-2=1

the roots are -5 and +1
