x+root (x-2)= 4
x-4= - root(x-2)
Now, on squaring both sides
(x-4)^2 =x-2
x^2 +16-8x= x-2
x^2 - 9x +18 =0
Now, By splitting the middle term
x^2 - 6x - 3x +18= 0
x(x-6) - 3(x-6)=0
(x-6)(x-3)=0
Roots will be 6 and 3
