Find the roots of the following equation if they exist by applying the quadratic formula. 2x^2+ax-a^2=0

D=(a)^2-4(2)(-a^2)=a^2+8a^2=9a^2

√D=√(9a^2)=3a

x=[(-a)-3a]/4

=(-4a/4)=(-a)

or

x=[(-a)+3a]/4=a/2
