1 ) x2 - 3x - 10 = 0

$\bf{{ = > \: x {}^{2} - 5x + 2x - 10 = 0 }}$

$\bf{{ = > x(x - 5) + 2(x - 5) = 0}}$

Then :-

$\bf{{ = > (x - 5)(x + 2) = 0}}$

$\bf{{ = > x = 5 ,- 2}}$
