Answer:

i) 2x² + x – 6 = 0

= 2x² + 4x – 3x – 6 = 0

= 2x ( x + 2 ) – 3 ( x + 2 ) = 0

= ( x + 2 ) ( 2x – 3 ) = 0

= x + 2 = 0 (or) 2x – 3 = 0

= x = –2 (or) 2x = 3

= x = –2 (or) x = 3/2

= x = –2 (or) 3/2

since the roots of this quadratic equation is –2 (or) 3/2

vii) 3x²–5x + 2 = 0

= 3x²– 2x – 3x + 2 = 0

= x( 3x – 2 ) – 1 (3x – 2) = 0

= ( 3x – 2) ( x – 1 ) = 0

= 3x – 2= 0 (or) x – 1 = 0

= 3x = 2 (or) x = 1

= x = 2/3 (or) x = 1

= x = 2/3 (or) 1

roots of quadratic equation is 2/3 (or) 1

. Hope this helps you
