Multiplying both side with 3.

6 {y}^{2}  + 5y - 6 = 0 \\  \\ 6 {y}^{2}  + 9y - 4y - 6 = 0 \\  \\ 3y(2y + 3) - 2(2y + 3) = 0 \\  \\ (2y + 3) \:  \: (3y - 2) = 0

If 2y + 3 = 0

2y =  - 3 \\  \\ y =  \frac{ - 3}{2}

If 3y - 2 = 0

3y = 2 \\  \\ y =  \frac{2}{3}
