 x =  -1 + √33 / 4  ,   -1 - √33 / 4

2x² + x - 4 = 0

We have to use quadratic formula

Determinant ----  b² - 4ac

2x² + x - 4 = 0

a = 2 , b = 1 , c = -4

b² - 4ac = 1 - (4×2×-4)

              = 1 + (4×2×4)

              = 1 + 32

              = 33

x = -b ± √b² - 4ac / 2a

  = -1 ± √33 / 2×2

  = -1 + √33 / 4  ,   -1 - √33 / 4
