Solution :-
Q: 4x² + 3x + 5 = 0
Dividing by 4 we get,
=> x² + 3/4x + 5/4 = 0
Here, coefficient of x = 3/4
By the method of completing squares we have to multiply 1/2 with the coefficient of x,
3/4 × 1/2 = 3/8
Now,
Adding (3/8)² both side we get,
=> x² + 3/4x + 5/4 + (3/8)² = (3/8)²
=> x² + 3/4x + (3/8)² = 9/64 - 5/4
=> x² + 3/4x + (3/8)² = - 71/64
=> (x + 3/4)² = - 71/64
Here we saw that the square of x + 3/4 has a negative value but the squaring of any number could not be negative.
Hence,
Answer doesn't exit.
