6x² - x - 2 = 0

⇒ 6x² - 4x + 3x - 2 = 0

⇒ 2x(3x - 2) +1(3x - 2) = 0

⇒ (2x+1)(3x - 2) = 0

so either  (3x - 2) = 0 or  (2x+1) = 0

x = 2/3 or -1/2 ANSWER

Finding the roots  of  the quadratic equation

6x^2 - x - 2 = 0

= 6x^2 + 3x - 4x - 2

= 3x ( 2x +1 ) - 2 ( 2x + 1 )

= ( 3x - 2 ) ( 2x + 1 ) = 0

x = \frac{2}{3}

x = \frac{-1}{2}
