a = -1 b=7 c=-10

so discriminant = b^2 - 4ac

7^2- 4×(-1)×(-10)

we know that

quadratic formula is

X= -b(+-)✓d/2a

X = -7+ ✓9 /-2 and -7-✓9/2

X = -7+3/-2 and -7-3/-2

X = -4/-2 and -10/-2

X = 2 and 5

2 and 5 are roots of the quadratic equation
