Find the roots of the quadratic equation x(1-x) – 2 = 0 by using factorisation method.

Answer:

x(1 - x) - 2 = 0

x -  {x}^{2}  - 2 = 0

 {x}^{2}  - x + 2 = 0

 {x}^{2}  - 2x  + x - 2 = 0

x(x - 2) + (x - 2) = 0

(x - 2)(x - 1) = 0

x = 2 \: \: and \:  \: 1
