 {x}^{2} - 6x =  - 8

 \implies \:  {x}^{2}  - 6x + 8 = 0

 \implies \:  {x}^{2}  - 4x  - 2x+ 8 = 0

 \implies \:  x(x - 4) - 2(x - 4)= 0

 \implies \:  (x - 4)(x - 2) = 0

So

(x - 4) = 0 \:  \:  \: gives \:  \:  \: x = 4

Again

(x - 2) = 0 \:  \: gives \:  \: x = 2

x^2-x=-8/6

x^2-x=-4/3

x-x=√-4/3

2x=2√-1/3

x=2-1/3

2

x=√-1/3

I hope it help you
