Hey.....

D=b2-4ac

=3×3-4×1×(-2)

= 9+8

= 17

x=-b under root D/2a

x=-3 under root 17 /2

x=-3 plus minus under root 17 /2

if positive

x=-3 +root 17 /2

if negative

x= -3-root 17/ 2...

hope this helps u...

Equation :- x² + 3x - 2

a = 1

b = 3

c = -2

Roots by using quadratic formula

[Distinct Method]

\huge{\boxed{\boxed{\bf{D \: = \: b^{2} \: - \: 4ac}}}}

___________________[Put Values]

D = (3)² - 4(1)(-2)

D = 9 + 8

D = 17

√D = √17

Quadratic Formula :-

\huge{\bf{\boxed{\boxed{x \: = \: {\frac{-b \: ± \: {\sqrt{D}}}{2a}}}}}}

______________[Put values]

x = -(3) ± √17 / 2(1)

When Positive(+)

x = -3 + √17 / 2

When negative (-)

x = -3 - √17 / 2
