To find the nth term in GP We use the formula :

Tn = ar^n-1  where Tn =the nth term

                                 a = 1st term of GP

                                 r = common difference

3^n-1 = ar^n-1         (Given)

by comparing the above two equations , we get

a = 1  and r = 3

Now the 6th term would be

T6 = a * r^(6-1)

   =  1 * 3^(5)

   =243 would be the 6th term
