Area of shaded portion =
Total area of rectangle - Area of 3 unshaded right triangles.
Area of rectangle = (10+4)×(3+5) = 112
Area of unshaded triangles =
1/2 × 12 × 5 + 1/2 × 4 × 3 + 1/2 × 6 × 10
=30 + 6 + 30 = 66.

Therefore Area of shaded portion = 112 - 66
= 46
