Area of square = (side)² = 20×20 = 400 cm²

Area of ∆ PML = 1/2 × base × height

=> 1/2 × PM × PL = 1/2 × 10 × 10 = 50 cm²

Area of ∆ MQR = Area of ∆ SLR = 1/2 × MQ × RQ

=> 1/2 × 10 × 20 = 100 cm²

therefore , area of shaded region =

=> AREA OF SQUARE - [ AREA OF PML + AREA OF MQR + AREA OF SLR ]

=> 400 - [ 50 + 100 + 100 ] cm²

=> ( 400 - 250 ) cm²

=> 150 cm² .... is the answer
