Area of shaded region = Area of square - Area of particular given figure.

Given,

  • side of square = 14 cm

diameter of circle = 14 - (3+3) / 2

=> diameter of circle = 14 - 6 /2

=> diameter of circle = 8 / 2 cm

=> diameter of circle = 4 cm

therefore, radius = 2 cm

Area of 4 circles = 4 × π × r²

Area of 4 circles = 4 × 4 × π

Area of 4 circles = 16π cm²

Area of square = side²

area of square = 14² = 196 cm²

Now,

Area of shaded region = Area of square - area of 4 circles

=> area of shaded region = 196 - 16π

=> area of shaded region = 196 - 16×22/7

=> area of shaded region = 196×7 - 16×22 / 7

=> area of shaded region = 1372 - 352 / 7

=> area of shaded region = 1020/7

=> area of shaded region = 145.71

Your answer is 145.71 cm²
