Question :-

  • Find the side and perimeter of a square whose diagonal is 10 cm.

Answer

Given :-

  • Diagonal of a square is 10 cm

To find :-

  • (i) side of square
  • (ii) Perimeter of square

Formula used :-

In square,

\boxed{\bf \:diagonal\:of\:square=\sqrt{2} \times side }

\boxed{\bf \:Perimeter\:of\:square=4 \times side}

Solution: -

Diagonal of a square = 10 cm

We know

\bf \:diagonal = \sqrt{2} \times side

\bf\implies \:10 = \sqrt{2} \times side

\bf\implies \:side \:  = \dfrac{10}{ \sqrt{2} }

\bf\implies \:side = \dfrac{10}{ \sqrt{2} } \times  \dfrac{ \sqrt{2} }{ \sqrt{2} }

\bf\implies \:side = \dfrac{10 \sqrt{2} }{2}

\bf\implies \:side = 5 \sqrt{2}  \: cm

★ Now, we have to find Perimeter of square.

We know,

\boxed{\bf \:Perimeter\:of\:square=4 \times side}

\bf\implies \:Perimeter = 4 \times 5 \sqrt{2}

\bf\implies \:Perimeter = 20 \sqrt{2}  \: cm
