Solution - Let the new side be 2s

therefore, New are =(2s)²

=2s×2s

=4s²

=4×Original area

therefore, When the side is doubled, the area becomes four times

2) It's side is halved?

Solution- Let the new side be s/2

therefore, New Area = (s/2)²

= s/2×s/2

=s²/4

=4×Original area

therefore, When the side is halved, the area becomes one fourth.
